Blak Cede is and extension of Waminda’s decolonisation work, to build support through retail products, a cafe and native plant nursery in Nowra.
Affect
Reflecting Waminda’s story of strong women, strong community, strong culture. Blak Cede is reclaiming and empowering First Nations ways: our food systems, our knowledge systems, all of it. It is time for Aboriginal ways of knowing, being and doing to be at the fore.
Project
Blak Cede is an Aboriginal women-led social and cultural enterprise which cultivates traditional bush foods from their community garden to produce high quality products for their cafe and online store.
Drawing inspiration from references in bold cultural critique, and standing bold and staunch in Blak Cede’s values and identity.
The original artwork ‘Majestic Awakenings’ by Michelle Ashby has been woven into the brand, with respect to its original design and story.
